CC High Schedules Summer Athletics

 


As the Class of 2018 graduates this week, no fewer than six Culver City High School athletic programs are already preparing for the Fall semester. Football, cheer, boys water polo, girls volleyball, cross country and girls tennis have practices and tryouts scheduled, or already have commenced with training.

Football: Athletes may try out during Summer Workout which will begin June 11, 2018 to June 28, 2018. Monday - Thursday, 2:30-5:00 p.m. For freshman Summer workouts will begin Tuesday, June 12 from Monday - Thursday from 1:30-4:00 p.m. and will end on Wednesday July 25. Summer camp will begin Friday August 10.

For JV and Varsity Summer Workout will begin June 11, 2018 to June 28, 2018. Monday -Thursday. If you have any questions please contact freshman Head Coach, Devaughn Wallace at devaughnwallace@yahoo.com or varsity Head Coach Jahmal Wright with any training camp questions jahmalwright@ccusd.org.

Cheer: Perhaps the hardest working program and the spirit of the school held their tryouts this past March. Please contact the CCHS Athletic department for further information.

Boys water polo: The team already held tryouts at the Culver City Plunge that recently ended last Friday, June 7. Please contact Head Coach Nestor Dordoni at coachnestor48@gmail.com.

Girls volleyball: The two-time defending CIF Champions will hold tryouts on June 18-21 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in both Middle school gyms. Please contact Head Coach Tanner Siegal at culvervolleyball@gmail.com.

Cross country: While there are no tryouts for cross country, students may join the team by coming to the summer practices that begin on Monday, June 18, 2018. Practices will be held each week from Monday - Friday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Lindberg Park. Additional evening practices for those who have conflicts will most likely be held Monday – Friday from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Lindberg park. Girls Tennis: Incoming 9th graders interested in playing high school tennis must have prior experience or training. There is very limited space available for team practices. Qualified individuals must report to the high school tennis courts at the appropriate time on Monday, June 18th.

Practices will be held at the CCHS tennis courts Monday – Friday, June 18 - July 14. Girls will meet from 8:00-10:00 a.m. Guys will meet from 10:00-12:00 p.m. There will be no practice on Wednesday, July 4. Please contact Head Coach Phil Rothenberg at philrothenberg@ccusd.org
