Council Rushes to Pot

December 7, 2017

In what is a rare display at city hall the council rushed to approve three retail marijuana stores in Culver City.

There was much public discussion with those opposed to the stores citing higher crime rates near the stores and the influence it would have on teenagers. Those in favor spoke of the health benefits for people suffering from debilitating illnesses.

The vote was 4-1 with Councilman Goran Eriksson voting no. Eriksson has consistently opposed retail cannabis stores in the city.
