Culver City Man Gets 24 Years For Sexual Assault

September 28, 2017

Samuel Duran, 36, from Culver City was sentenced to 24 years in prison for abducted and sexually abused a 15-year-old girl with autism over a three-week period in the spring of 2015 during which she was kept inside his home. A search of the area for the teenage girl was not productive until she managed to make a phone call that was traced back to his home. On March 24 she had gone for a walk near the Mar vista Recreation Center. The girl disappeared from her Mar Vista home on March 24 of that year, prosecutors said. Law enforcement officers traced the number to Duran’s house in Culver City on April 13, 2015, three weeks after her disappearance and rescued her. When the girl was found at Duran’s home he was booked by Los Angeles police and held on $8 million bail. He then pled not guilty to a dozen charges related to the case. He was charged with six counts of forced oral copulation, three counts of rape and three counts of forced digital penetration, according to a news release from authorities at that time. Along with his 24-year sentence he must register as a lifetime sex offender.
