Culver City Football is Still Looking To Improve

Although the Culver City football team has performed at a high level this summer in passing league games they realize they must improve if they expect to compete for league and CIF championships in the fall. “We are looking pretty good right now but we still have to get better,” said head coach Jahmal Wright after they beat Brentwood during a recent game at Culver City.

Wright is always looking for perfection but he realizes its’ still early. “It’s June so we have some time to get to where we want to be in September,” said Wright.

The Centaurs have outstanding skill players but the offensive and defensive line is still a question mark. “Our line is a work progress but we have improved from last year because we have more depth,” said Wright.

The Centaurs return three out of five starters from the offensive line and two of the three from the defensive line. “The good news is some of our new varsity lineman are bigger and stronger and the veterans are showing great leadership.”
