Thomas Wilcox, a sophomore at Culver City High , just completed his Eagle

Project. His project, Joseph Tachiki's Backpacks for Kids, provided 80 backpacks

filled with school supplies for homeless students who enter Culver City Middle

School.

The project was named after his best friend, who was also on his way to

become an Eagle Scout, who passed away unexpectedly last September. Thomas's

goal was to raise $1300, however, due to generous donation from family and friends, he raised

over $2800 which allowed him to purchases high quality backpacks and additional school supplies.
