COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES Office of Emergency Management

February 23, 2017

A large storm system swept through Los Angeles County beginning on February 17, causing damage to homes, properties and businesses. The County requests for residents and business owners impacted by the storm to take action by reporting damages to their homes and businesses by completing a damage assessment survey.

“It is important for residents and business owners to become familiar with the process used by the Los Angeles County Chief Executive Office, Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to collect damage estimates caused by the recent storm” stated Leslie Luke, OEM Deputy Director. “This information will be used to determine if the County has enough damages to seek a Federal declaration for assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration.”

To complete the online damage assessment survey residents and business owners can visit http://www.211la.org and click on the banner for Damage Assessment Survey. Residents and business owners can also call 211 LA County by dialing 2-1-1 to complete the survey and get information and referrals for assistance.

The 211 LA County website also provides up-to-date weather outlooks, road closure notices, and information on being prepared for emergencies.

Los Angeles County residents, renters, and business owners, including persons with disabilities and others with access and functional needs, may call 211 LA County at any time for emergency preparedness information, and other referral services.

The toll-free 2-1-1 number is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week. 211 LA County services can also be accessed online by visiting http://www.211la.org.
