CCFD & CCPD Respond to MTA Bus Crash In Culver

An early morning crash on Wednesday between an MTA Bus and a dump truck at the Jefferson Boulevard off ramp on the 405 freeway initiated a major response from Culver City Police and Fire along with surrounding agencies.

The accident took place at 5:30 am when the truck was exiting the freeway ramp and the bus was traveling eastbound on Jefferson.

According to Culver City Battalion Chief Jeremy Debie paramedics treated seven passengers and transported four people on the bus to a local hospital. None of the injuries were life threatening.

Chief Debie said that seven units from CCFD responded with 18 personnel. Culver City police along with the Los Angeles Police Department and Fire Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff and the California Highway Patrol were also on the scene.

The off ramp for the northbound exit of the 405 freeway at Jefferson was closed and Jefferson was closed in both directions.

The accident is under investigation and the cause has not yet been determined.
