Bruins, Trojans Qualify For NCAA Track Championships

 


The UCLA and USC track and field teams will send a strong group of athletes to the NCAA Championships next week in Eugene, Oregon. The four-day event will start on Wednesday, June 8 and continue through Saturday, June 11.

The Bruin men will be led by senior Nicholas Scarvelis in the shot put and Dotun Ogundeji in the shot put and discus and Braheme Days in the shot put. Other UCLA men who will be competing in Eugene will be Nick Hartle in the 800, Rai Benjamin in the 400 meter hurdles and Austin Hazel in the long jump.

The Bruin women will rely on Kylie Price and Jessie Maduka in the long jump, Anglene Annelus in the 200 and their 400 meter relay team.

The USC men are led by Adoree’ Jackson in the long jump and Randall Cunningham the high jump. The Trojan women will rely on Tynia Gaither and Deanna Hill in the 100 and 200 meters, Kendall Ellis in the 400 and Jaide Stepter and Amalic Iuel in the 400 meter hurdles.

Competing in the field events for the Trojan women will be Margaux Jones and Alexis Faulknor in the long jump and Tera Novy in the discus. Their 400 and 1600 meter relay team also qualified for the championships.
