Westside Neighborhood School announces its upcoming speaker series event, featuring Dr. Yalda T. Uhls on March from 7 am to 9.,

During this educational evening, Dr. Uhls, author of Media Moms & Digital Dads: A Fact Not Fear Approach to Parenting in the Digital Age, will provide an overview of the digital media landscape in which our kids live, learn, and play.

She’ll discuss media usage, social science research, opportunities and challenges presented by digital media, and how parents can navigate this rapidly evolving landscape with their kids. Dr. Uhls will offer expert advice and concrete tools and tips on how parents can guide their kids to make responsible, respectful, and safe media choices.

Yalda Uhls, MBA, PhD, is an award-winning child psychologist, researcher, and leading expert in how media affects children, who works with schools, non-profits, and companies alike.

She is an unequaled and balanced voice in helping parents and educators navigate the overwhelming landscape of opinions, research, facts, conversation, and misinformation surrounding the impact of media on children.

In addition to being an author and consultant, Dr. Uhls works with Common Sense Media as their Director of Creative Community Partnerships and does research with UCLA. Dr. Uhls currently sits on the Westside Neighborhood School Board of Trustees. She is also a mom of two digital teens.
