Damaged Cable Causes Downtown Blackout

A damaged underground cable Tuesday night caused power to be lost in a large area of downtown Culver City. The disruption started at 7:26pm and power was restored at 4:51 Wednesday morning according to a spokesperson for Southern California Edison.

A total of 241 business and residential customers were affected.

The Culver City Police Department notified area residents via Nixle.com of the outage.

The boundaries of the power outage affected were Venice Blvd. on the North, Lucerne Ave. on the South, Landmark Street on the East and Duquesne Ave. on the West.

Residents took to social media posting pictures from downtown restaurants dining by candlelight. Larocco’s Pizzeria posted its “NationalPizzaDay at @laroccospizzeriaofficial power's out but we're still eating
