Children Learn the Art of Giving

November 12, 2015

Preschool students from My Friends Montessori Preschool in Culver City pack shoeboxes to be sent for Christmas to children orphans and refuges affected by war and natural disasters around the world.

This is as part of Operation Christmas Child National Shoebox Collection week November 16-23 through Samaritans Purse.

Their teacher, Bonnie Wacker says, "It's a way for them to get hands on experience giving to others less fortunate and to learn the value of "giving" to others from their hearts. It can be as simple as talking to a neighbor, helping at home or giving someone a kiss or hug. It's a real way to bring that concept home. I love that we can track the boxes and find out where they go. Last year they went to the Phillipines."
