The No. 1 USC Trojans and the No. 11 UCLA Bruins women’s volleyball teams will go on a four -game road trip starting tonight when they travel to Oregon and Oregon State this weekend.

The following weekend they will be in the state of Washington to battle Washington and Washington State. The Trojans and Bruins swept the Arizona schools last weekend. USC is 20-0 and 8-0 in the Pac-12 and UCLA is 15-3 and 6-2 in the Pac-12.

USC will play Oregon State tonight at 8 p.m. and Oregon on Sunday at 1 p.m. UCLA will face Oregon tonight at 6 p.m. and Oregon State on Sunday at 12 p.m. On Friday October 30, USC will play Washington and Washington State on Sunday November 30. UCLA will face Washington State on Friday and Washington on Sunday that same weekend.

Although USC was expected to win their games last weekend, UCLA ‘s victories were a pleasant surprise. “I learned the last two years in the Pac-12, if you can get one win in a weekend that is awesome but to get two is huge,” said UCLA head coach Michael Sealy after their win over Arizona State on Sunday in the John Wooden Center on the UCLA campus.

Since being swept by USC at home on September 23 the Bruins are 6-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of 17-1 Washington. “The USC game was the perfect lesson for us,” said Sealy. “We tried to press and force points. We have to learn to play our game and trust in our ability to make things happen. We need to relax and settle into the game. As a team we are trying to figure each other out and find our identity.”

Against Arizona State the Bruins were led by Jordan Anderson, Reily Buechler, Claire Felix and Jennie Frager .

USC is clicking on all cylinders right now. They are led by outside hitter senior Samantha Bricio. Others playing well for the Trojans are Brittany Abercrombie, Alyse Ford, Baylee Johnson, Alicia Ogoms, Elise Ruddins and Taylor Whittingham.

USC head coach Mick Haley , who has coached USC for 15 years, has the Trojans playing at a very high level. His fast-paced offense is poetry in motion.
