Perkins Rescues UCLA In One-Point Win

The UCLA Bruins found out two important things about their football team after the win overt BYU last Saturday at the Rose Bowl. Number one, their freshmen quarterback Josh Rosen is human after all and nothing can take the place of veteran leadership.
Rosen completed only 11 passes for 106 yards and threw three interceptions compared to his opening day game of 351 yards and last week's win over UNLV.
With the passing game not up to par the Bruins turned to veteran running backs Paul Perkins who gained 219 yards on 26 carries and one touchdown and Nate Starks, who ran for 81 yards on seven carries.
The Bruins, who are the ninth ranked team in the nation, will probably have to rely on their veterans again when they travel to Arizona to take on the Wildcats on Saturday at 5 p.m. on Channel 7.
UCLA also relies on a veteran group of wide receivers. Seniors Jordan Payton and Devin Fuller along with junior Thomas Duarte and sophomore Mossi Johnson help open up the running game and take a lot of pressure off of Rosen.
On defense UCLA still has junior linebacker Myles Jack. UCLA's All-American linebacker intercepted a pass thrown by BYU quarterback Tanner Mangum with 58 seconds left to seal the victory.
