Culver City School Board Candidates Scott McVarish and Anne Burke will hosta Kick-off Party for their Joint Campaign, Sunday, Aug 9 at 3-5 pm. Come meet the candidates after CicLAvia.

The location is Mike Cohen’s house: 4378 Jasmine Ave., Culver City.

McVarish is a Parent and Teacher Advocate, co-founder of the United Parents of Culver City, a long-time youth volleyball coach and a volunteer at El Marino. He is an attorney and advocate for teachers and parents. His daughter is one year away from Culver City Middle School.

Burke is a Parent Leader in the district having served as the PTA President of El Marino Language School and on the Council PTA for the entire district. She holds a Masters in Counseling from the LMU School of Education. She has a daughter in 2nd grade and a son one year away from Culver City Middle School.
