Kentwood Schedules Auditions For New Play

Kentwood Players will hold open auditions for Don Nigro's Gothic thriller "Ravenscroft" on Saturday, July 11 from 10 am to 3 pm and on Sunday, July 12 from 7 pm to 10.

Callbacks will be held on Monday, July 13 at 7 pm. Auditions and performances will take place at the Westchester Playhouse, 8301 Hindry Avenue in Westchester.

Performance dates are September 11 to October 17 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, Sundays at 2 pm. This is a non-equity, non-paid production directed by Sheridan Cole Crawford and produced by Larry Jones by special arrangement with Samuel French.

"Ravenscroft" is a psychological murder mystery with comical overtones, set in rural England in the early 1900's. It is a thinking person's Gothic thriller, a dark comedy both funny and unnerving. On a snowy night, Inspector Ruffing is called to a remote country estate to investigate a murder. He subsequently becomes involved in the lives of five intriguing and dangerous women. As everyone's secrets and desires are revealed, the Inspector (and audience) are bewildered, amused, and frightened as they are led to a dark encounter with the truth.

Please bring a current headshot and resume with you as well as your calendar. A rehearsal schedule will be posted at auditions and you will be asked to note any conflicts. Be prepared for readings from the sides and possible improv. If you have any questions, please email ravenscroft@kentwoodplayers.org.
