Organizers of the inaugural film festival for Culver City have announced the first film festival will be held next year.

Culver City has not hosted a film festival in several years since the now defunct Backlot Film Festival ceased operations.

The Culver City Film Festival has put out call for film submission. . This is An opportunity for filmmakers from all over the world to showcase their work to a wide audience located in the “Heart of Screenland.”

"The Festival offers filmmakers from around the world a unique opportunity to screen in one of the largest film centers of the world, Culver City", says Festival Director Jon Gursha.

Submitting a film to the 2014 Culver City Film Festival is easy. Simply send a DVD screener to: Culver City Film Festival 4640 Admiralty Way Suite 500 Marina del Rey, CA 90292.

"We accept all type of film submissions, from shorts to features to international and foreign language films. The festival is truly open to anyone with interest in displaying at a unique and international film festival", says Gursha.

The festival will feature a wide variety of film types and genres. Categories include: Animation, Documentary, Experimental, Fantasy, Fiction, Horror, Indie, and more for both short and feature films. The festival will show films with something for people who are fans of all different genres.

Festival Programmer Peter Greene is already excited about this year’s festival program. “The quality of independent cinema has never been better. The festival strives to have something for everyone. We are looking forward to receiving some exciting submissions and sharing them with filmgoers.”

A submission fee of $25 made payable to Culver City Film Festival is all that is required.

Organizers of the event are big names in the industry. The festival is being put together by the founders of the now famous Marina del Rey Film Festival, as well as Film Marketing Services Inc.

The Culver City Film Festival is not only located in the heart of the Los Angeles entertainment Industry, but one of Los Angeles’ most pedestrian-friendly destinations with upscale restaurants, gastropubs and a thriving art scene. It’s the perfect location for not only watching these fantastic films, but also for networking and getting to know others in the industry.

Culver City is home and nearby to many of the top film producers and distributors in the world. The publicity associated with the festival is a way for budding and emerging film producers and directors to capture the industry’s attention right in its backyard.
