Ford's Filling Station Shuttered

July 3, 2014

With the planned opening of Ford's Filling Station inside the J.W. Marriott in downtown Los Angeles Ford's Filling Station abruptly closed its doors on Sunday night.

It was ten years ago Ben Ford opened one of the first gastro pubs in the Southland and received local and national press partially because of his famous father actor Harrison Ford.

Ford's was an integral part of developing Downtown Culver City into a restaurant and entertainment Mecca on the Westside.

According to published reports in Eatery LA, a local website specializing in restaurants, a major restaurant group is taking over the space while the Ford's crew vacates, though they're unable to disclose which organization that will be...

Ford's Filling Station's is scheduled to open in the space formerly occupied by L.A. Market in lobby of the J.W. Marriott this fall. The Marriot is across the street from the Staples Center.

They're planning to redesign the interior and make it more of a room instead of a spot with 100-foot ceilings.

It appears the move will position Ford's Filling Station to replicate the restaurant in Marriott Hotels around the country.

Ford's currently has a location inside the airport terminals at LAX.
