Loraine Norvell Culver City resident, dies at 91

Loraine Jeannett Dunn Norvell (nee Troendly), 91, went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2014.

Born in Lincoln, NE on June 19, 1922, Loraine moved to Southern California with parents Ray and Marie Troendly, and brother Dean, when she was four years old. Loraine graduated from Venice high school in 1940, and soon after married Harry Dunn, of Culver City. Harry and Loraine, with their children Leonard and Carla, moved into their home in Culver City in 1956, where she resided until just late last year before moving into an assisted living community at Westwood Plaza.

Loraine enjoyed being a homemaker, as well as working in accounting at Voi Shan, until her retirement in 1987. She was a devoted member of the Culver City Presbyterian church for over 70 years. Loraine's hobbies included participating in Republican Women's meetings for many years, working on the LA Times Crossword puzzles, and watching Dodger baseball!

Loraine is preceded in death by husband Harry Carl Dunn (1973), and husband Robert Norvell (1992).

Loraine is survived by son Leonard Dunn and wife Pamela of Mountain View, CA, daughter Carla Rae Dunn of Culver City, granddaughter Kirsten Krimsley, her husband David and son Nathan, all of Sunnyvale, CA, grandson Matthew Henderson and wife Katie of Pasadena, CA, granddaughter Melissa Dunn of Mountain View, and brother Dean Troendly of Portland, OR.

Services were held on June 19th at Culver City Presbyterian Church. Committal will follow at Inglewood Park Cemetery at a later date.
