Child Abductor Strike Again, Twice

While Culver City Police cannot confirm the suspect is the same man who attempted to kidnap a Culver City Middle school girl last week all the signs point to the same individual. He struck again twice this week.

On Tuesday at 7:15pm, a 16 year old female was walking home from school in the area of Overland Ave. and Virginia Ave., a Male White/Hispanic Adult, short brown hair, and facial hair, driving a green four door vehicle, pulled alongside of her.

The suspect said, "Get in the car" twice, and continued to follow her as she walked away. Fearing for her safety, the student turned and ran back to school where she contacted her mother.

Another report came in from an anonymous caller who stated that on Monday at about 3:15p.m., a vehicle pulled alongside of her at Sepulveda Bl. and Machado Rd. She immediately fled the area, and there was no contact between her and the driver of the vehicle. It is unclear if these two incidents are related.

In a related incident last Tuesday a girl was walking near Culver City Middle School on Farragut Dr. east of Overland Ave. when green Ford Taurus pulled up to her, and the driver asked the girl for her name. He then leaned over, opened the passenger side door, and told her to get into the vehicle. Fearing for her safety, the girl ran west toward Overland Ave., and then reported the incident to an employee at the Culver City Teen Center.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Ed Baskaron at (310) 253-6202.
