Car Show Welcome Message

Welcome

Welcome to Cruisin' Back to the Fifties presented by the George Barris and the Exchange Club of Culver City. 2014 is the eleven edition for our annual celebration of the America's classic cars and street rods. As you stroll past this matchless collection of roadsters, muscle cars and timeless classics, we think you will agree, this year's show is the best one yet! Cruisin'Back to the Fifties wouldn't be possible without George Barris, the iconic designer of some of Hollywood's most legendary cars from the Munster's Koach and the Batmobile to the famed Plymouth Barracuda that streaked across the silver screen in Fireball 500. For more than fifty years, George's inimitable automotive creations have captured our imagination and inspired new generations of car enthusiasts. Like so many of the cars he creates, George is an American original. This spectacular show couldn't happen without the many sponsors and volunteers who have spent countless hours to make this event possible. We would especially like to thank the City of Culver City for their support in allowing us to turn downtown into one of the greatest gatherings of street rods and classics cars in all of Southern California. This year's car show also would never get out of the starting blocks if not for our corporate sponsors like The Armand Hammer Foundation, RM Auctions, Galpin Motors, and K-Earth FM 101 who is broadcasting live again this year from the streets of Culver City. Along with our many corporate supporters, we would also like to acknowledge our Trophy Sponsors and car show judges. Each trophy is sponsored by the generous donation of individual or local businesses from throughout our great community. Make sure you stick around to see the winners. The Exchange Club is proud to have been a part of this community for more than 60 years. Each year we raise thousands of dollars to support Culver City youth and youth programs. The Exchange always welcomes new members. We meet at noon for lunch every Tuesday at the Culver City Elk's Lodge. Join us. The Car Show is our chance to have a little fun while highlighting the best that Culver City has to offer. So, kick back, dance to a little rockn'roll, check out the classic wheels, and come Cruisin' Back to the Fifties– Culver style! Keep Cruisin'!
