Sebastian Ridley-Thomas Urges Health Plan Enrollment

February 20, 2014

Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas strongly urged young adults, senior citizens and families with children to sign up for affordable healthcare coverage at Covered California's health insurance enrollment event at West Los Angeles College last Saturday.

Assemblymember Ridley-Thomas said, "Now is the time to get the health insurance that you and your family members need. Neither you nor your children can be turned down if you have a pre-existing medical condition. Covered California can help you sign up for health insurance at a monthly rate you can afford from top-rated health providers: Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Cross, Health Net, Kaiser Permanente, L.A. Care, and Molina Healthcare."

"If you work, but don't qualify for health insurance from your employer, don't worry. Covered California can help you enroll in a health plan that won't bust your budget. It's health insurance for the rest of us," he added.

Assemblymember Ridley-Thomas serves on the Assembly Health Committee. He said, "The health insurance enrollment deadline for 2014 is March 15th. Now is the time to find the health plan that meets your healthcare needs and fits your pocketbook."

WLAC's three-hour Covered California enrollment event will take place in the campus' Fine Arts Complex from noon to 3 pm with free parking available in WLAC's South Parking Structure.

WLAC is located at 9000 Overland Avenue, Culver City..
