Jean Louise Montgomery Frick passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4 at her assisted living home in McLean, VA. She lived in Culver City for 20 years until moving to an assisted living home in 2006.

Jean was born in Atchison, Kansas on March 27, 1926, daughter of Russell James Montgomery (WWI Army Veteran, Packard Electric/GM;1896 - 1980) and Eunice Katherine Lake (D.A.R., Warren Women's Book Club; 1898 -1989). Her parents moved to Warren in her youth, Jean graduated from Warren G. Harding high school (1944), and was an active member and Sunday School teacher with the First Church of Christ, Scientist.

Jean graduated Magna Cum Laude (1949) from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, where she met and married Bernard "Barney" McGlade Frick (1924-2006). They had four children, and upon divorce, she returned to Warren, Ohio.

Mrs. Frick taught social studies and geography at East Jr. H.S., and also civics, geography and history at W.G. Harding high school, and Champion high school. She was an active supporter of the Arts, progressive Democrat, and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader.

Mrs. Frick completed her Masters in Library Science from Kent State University while going to summer school, and then became Head Librarian at W.G.H. For a time, she moved to Massachusetts, working with updating the Leominster high school Library.

After her father's passing, she and her mother moved to California. Mrs. Frick was an active member of the 12th Church of Christ, Scientist, Van Nuys, and worked as a Legal Reference Librarian for Tosco Oil Company.

Upon retiring, Jean volunteered for the League of Women Voters, and was instrumental in implementing the Mock Elections in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Mrs. Frick was a season ticket subscriber to the L.A. Philharmonic and Dorothy Chandler Music Center, Huntington Library, UCLA Royce Hall, LACCMA, MOCA, Smithsonian, Pasadena Playhouse, Redondo Performing Arts Center, amongst supporting other worthy causes & the cultural Arts.

Jean ("life is an adventure") was best known for her wacky sense of humor, admiration of gardens & world history, generous heart, love of jazz, dancing, musicals, and especially poetry. She has four living children and 4 *grandchildren: Christina (*Rachel & Gretchen), Marcy, Dennis, and Amy (*Shana & Tess).
