January 16, 2014

Michael Beckwith

Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith of Agape International Spiritual Center will be the keynote speaker at Culver City's ninth Annual Celebration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

"What did Dr. King say? And what will we do?" is the theme for the day-long celebration. Culver City's King Day celebration will start at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, at the Culver City Senior Center, 4095 Overland Avenue in Culver City. The event is free.

Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith founded the Agape International Spiritual Center in 1986 based on faith in a vision of a trans-denominational spiritual community. Agape reaches deep into local and global communities teaching individuals about the transforming, healing power of prayer, meditation, and selfless service.

Agape's active teaching and practice of the New Thought-Ancient Wisdom tradition of spirituality has expanded into a trans-denominational movement and community of 9,000 local members and 1,000,000 friends worldwide.

In a personal letter to him Coretta Scott King wrote, "I greatly admire what you are doing to bring about the Beloved Community, which is certainly what my dear husband worked for and ultimately gave his life."

Four decades ago, Dr. Beckwith began an inward journey into the teachings of East and West, and today teaches universal truth principles found in the New Thought-Ancient Wisdom tradition of spirituality.

Dr. Beckwith is the originator of the Life Visioning Process, which he teaches throughout the country along with meditation, scientific prayer, and the spiritual benefits of selfless service. He facilitates retreats, workshops and seminars.
