Dear Editor

Dear Editor,

Everyone is getting ready for the Holidays. Hanukah is done, and we are on to Christmas. I am sure each one of you is figuring out who is on your list and what to buy them.

I would like to suggest to each Culver City resident or worker who is fortunate enough to have a list and money, to think about adding a contribution to feed the children of Culver City.

Many do not know that children in Culver City go to school hungry. They may be able to get a subsidized breakfast and lunch at the school during the week, or may not.

But, what about the weekends? What about the holidays? These children are the children of all of us, and we should make sure they have food. Plain and simple.

This year, add the children to your gift list – a gift of $100 or so to the Culver City PTA’s “backpack” food program will help feed these kids on the weekends. Make your check payable to the CCCPTA, 4034 Irving Place, Culver CA 90232, to the attention of Josie Campos, and note on the memo line “weekend food for our kids”. They will know what you want to do with that money!

For more information on the program you can e mail Leslie Gardner at lgardner63@gmail.com. I am merely the messenger here.

This would be a good start in our quest to improve the lives of these and all kids. And the good news is, you can keep giving all year long!

Laura Stuart
