Former Culver Resident Lorna Stamm Dies
Lorna Stamm was received into the arms of the Lord on November 10 in McKinney, TX. The youngest of four children, she was the last surviving child of J. E. and Alma Morris of Grand Island, Nebraska.
During WW II, Lorna worked in the defense industry at Douglas Aircraft. She started out grinding lenses for binoculars for the soldiers. Later, she moved to the aircraft division where she checked the rivets on new airframes to ensure they were perfectly flush with the sheet metal.
She often said she wanted them perfect in case one of those planes brought her Lyle home from Europe. She was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and attended Culver Community Church on Washington Blvd. for many years before moving from Culver City in 2006.
She will ever be remembered for her faith, her love for her family and her friendship to all in the name of Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Lyle Stamm, and her son Dean.
She is survived by her son Dennis Stamm and his wife Janice of Anna, Texas, as well as well as six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of cards and flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lorna's name to The American Alzheimer's Association.
2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
