Culver City’s Hip New Hangout For Lunch

October 24, 2013

If you are looking for a tantalizing lunch on a moderate budget come on over to LA Spice. This hidden treasure restaurant has been in Culver City for more than three years. It offers amazing dishes that are sure to satisfy your palate.

The atmosphere is upbeat and inviting and the décor of the restaurant is modern chic. And the service is impeccable and memorable.

The Succotash Salad is a great appetizer to start your lunch. Garnished with edible flowers, the red, green and yellow peppers give the presentation of the dish a remarkable display. The cucumbers, tomatoes and a splash of vinegar add a zesty taste and transforms traditional succotash into a truly delightful untraditional dish.

The texture of the succotash is crunchy and the aroma is seductive. If you have never tried succotash make sure you come to LA Spice and experience succotash done right. Once you have had your succotash at LA Spice you will make a special trip to the Westside of Los Angeles to get it.

An alternative to the Succotash Salad is the Grilled Steak and Stone Fruit Salad. This salad is more for a meat lover. Hefty portions of steak sit on top of mixed baby greens. Garnished with burrata cheese and pepitas with a sprinkle of balsamic dressing, the Grilled Steak and Stone Fruit Salad is filling and rich.

Meat eaters may love this salad, however it is very heavy just for a salad. The burrata cheese is bitter and salty.

I am not usually a pork person. I try to stay away from pork. But I have to tell you, one of the waitresses recommended the Star Anise Braised Pork Belly Banh Mi. If you are not a pork eater, this sandwich just may make you eat pork more often. The meat was tender and juicy, drizzled with Anise sauce and a hoisin-peanut spread the pork was savory. Basil, cilantro and pickled vegetables add a sweet flavor to the pork. The Star Anise Braised Pork Belly Banh Mi is a luscious choice for an entrée.

Dining at LA Spice is absolutely wonderful. The food is magnificent. Whether you are looking for a great place to have lunch or dinner, stop by LA Spice and find out what the buzz is all about. There is a dish on the menu that is sure to please you and make you feel all yummy inside.

Come on over to the Westside of Los Angeles and experience this hidden gem and enjoy the mouth watering dishes. LA Spice is located on Sepulveda and Lindblade in Culver City.
