Dear Editor

The School Board elections are just around the corner, and I will be voting for Claudia Vizcarra and Karlo Silbiger.

Claudia may be a newcomer to the school board election, but she is not a newcomer to the world of education and Culver City. She is a parent with two children in Culver City schools. She is Chief of Staff and Education Policy Director for Los Angeles School Board Vice-President Steve Zimmer.

Every day she works with educators, parents and community leaders to better Los Angeles schools. She will do the same for Culver City schools. Another asset is that she is Spanish speaking and understands the Latino community.

I am also voting for incumbent Karlo Silbiger who has worked nonstop to ensure safer schools, support teachers, stop bullying, expand vocational and educational programs and successfully maximize the budget. Karlo is a teacher and a product of Culver City's schools which is important to me..

Both Claudia and Karlo are supported by Culver City’s teachers and support staff. Culver City students and parents need Claudia Vizcarra and Karlo Silbiger on the School Board. They have my support.

Jesus Ernesto Reyes (Ernie)

Culver City.
