Carnival Coming Up To Celebrate Disability Awareness

October 10, 2013

The 11th Annual Kids Carnival celebrating Culver City’s Disability Awareness Month takes place on Sunday, October 20 from 1 pm to 4 at the Culver City Senior Center, 4095 Overland Avenue.

The event is free of charge for youth, families and adults. RSVP is required so that event planners may assure that adequate quantities of food, prizes and craft supplies are available. Participants must call (310) 253-6717 to confirm attendance.

New for this year, balloon artist Big Red will be on hand to make one-of-a-kind creations for the kids. As usual the Giddy Up Ranch petting zoo will be available—along with 15 carnival game booths, a karaoke stage, photo booth, community resource tables, a quiet activity room and an arts and crafts area.

All activities have been specially designed to be accessible to children and people of all abilities. Free hot dogs, burgers, pizza, cotton candy and popcorn will also be served.

The event is sponsored by Culver City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department and is made possible through partnership with the Culver City Disability Advisory Committee, Culver City Exchange Club, Culver City Senior Citizens Association, Inc., and Culver City Neighborhood Girl Scouts.
