Kentwood Players will hold auditions for “Becky’s New Car” by Steven Dietz on Sunday, November 10 from 6 pm to 9:30 and Monday, November 11 from 7 pm to 9:30.
Callbacks are scheduled for Tuesday, November 12 at 7 pm at the Westchester Playhouse, 8301 Hindry Avenue, Westchester.
Production dates are January 10 to February 15, 2014 for a six-week run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm with Sunday matinees at 2. The production is directed by Susan Stangl and produced by Larry Jones by special arrangement with Dramatist’s Play Service, Inc.
“Becky’s New Car” is a thoroughly original and contemporary comedy about love, loss, choices and what makes life worth living, a devious and delightful romp down the road not taken.
Have you ever been tempted to flee your own life? Becky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage—with no prospects for change on the horizon. Then one night a socially inept and grief-struck millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life…and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun in a way that most plays wouldn't dare.
Please come to the auditions prepared with headshot and resume. No advance appointment required to audition. Script sides of monologues and short scenes will be provided at the auditions.
For further information or copies of the audition script sides, please email the director, Susan Stangl, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
