Chamber Endorses Two For School Board

September 12, 2013

The Culver City Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Sue Robins and Steve Levin for Culver City Board of Education on the November 5 elections.

The Culver Chamber at its Board of Directors “Meet the Candidate” Forum had all seven candidates interviewed with the same four questions covering a broad area of board and education policy. Two of the four questions were given to the candidates a day prior and the two others were asked at the forum.

Sue Robins and Steve Levin showed knowledge of the issues by their distinct and forward-looking answers. Michael Hamill, Chair of the Culver City Chamber stated,

“ the forum allowed the chamber board to hear the candidates answer questions that were needed to be answered by the candidates so we could hear from them directly on their views of 21st century education for the students of Culver City”.

Robins and Levin both earned the endorsement by receiving 50% plus one vote of the board members in attendance on the one ballot the Chamber does during its endorsement process.

On September 16, on the Chamber’s Website http://www.culvercitychamber.com will have an electronic stream of all seven interviews available to the public.

The Culver Chamber’s CulverPAC, political action committee, met following the forum to discuss contributions to the endorsed candidates.

The Culver City Chamber of Commerce has just celebrated its 92nd Anniversary in August. More than 600 local businesses belong to the Chamber, its board of directors consists of 30 members of whom 14 live in Culver City and 24 are small business owners in Culver City.
