On Sunday, September 1 from noon until 1:30 p.m. Culver-Palms United Methodist Church and the Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice (CLUE LA) will be hosting a “Labor Lunch and Learn”.
During the afternoon, an inter-faith panel and personal testimonies will highlight the importance of dignity for student and other low-wage workers.
Faith leaders Reverend Se Hee Han, Rabbi Jonathan Klein and Sister Pat Krommer will discuss the role of religion in bringing respect to working people and their families. In addition, a car wash worker and a UCLA student will give their testimonies, putting a personal face on the campaigns.
Culver-Palms Church is located at 4464 Sepulveda Blvd., Culver City (3 blocks south of Culver Blvd.). A $6.00 suggested donation covers a vegetarian lunch at 12:00 noon, and the program runs from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Reservations are required. RSVP to email@example.com or phone (213) 481-3740.
