SoCalGas Awards Scholarhips To Culver Students

Southern California Gas Co. has awarded college scholarships totaling $2,000 to two Culver City-area high school seniors and community college graduates.

Among the recipients to be awarded $1,000 scholarships are: Tracy Tran and Diego Rodas, graduates of Culver City High.

“The scholarships recognize the students for academic achievement and other important signs of character,” said Krista Phipps, public affairs manager at SoCalGas.

“We’re awarding scholarships to 150 high school seniors and community college graduates in Southern California this year as a way of partnering with our communities and improving the quality of life for young people with high potential.”

SoCalGas’ Scholarship Program began in 1966 and is designed to meet the needs of young people in continuing their education while preparing to enter the highly competitive workforce.
