Mike Miller Dies, Service Set

Mike Miller, 74 passed away on Monday, May 13after a brief illness. He was the owner of Mike Miller Toyota and Honda in Culver City which he sold in 2002.
Miller served as President/Chairman of the Board of The Culver City Chamber of Commerce in 1989.
“Mike worked hard to bring the business community together with the residents,” stated Observer Publisher Steve Hadland, who was on the Chamber’s Board of Directors when Miller was chair. “He really wanted to bridge that gap and help the residents to understand what local businesses bring in revenue and services to the city while working hard to understand the wishes of the local citizens.”
Born in Brooklyn, Miller moved to Los Angeles as a child. He spent his career in the automotive business as a partner with his brother, Fred, in the Miller Automotive Group which included the Culver City Dealerships. He served as President of the California Motorcar Dealers Association, as well Chairman of the Toyota Dealer Council.
Retired in 2002, Mike became active in the desert community where he and his wife Carole (Cookie) lived part of the year, serving on the Board of the McCallum Theatre and as President of Tamarisk Country Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cookie, his children David, Celes, Gayle, Randy, Michelle and Leslie, and grandchildren Michelle, Laura, Ryan, Alex and Ben, brother and sister-in-law Fred and Barbara.

Funeral services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park at 11 am on Friday, May 17.
