Wilson Phillips Coming To Saban Theatre

April 25, 2013

The Canyon Club based in Agoura is now offering shows at another venue called Beverly Hills Canyon at The Saban Theatre. People might remember it as Wilshire Theatre Beverly Hills. It served as one of the premiere movie palaces when it was built in 1930 and then converted to a stage theatre in 1981.

Coming to The Saban on May 4 will be the famous girl band, Wilson Phillips, with their three Billboard 100 chart-topping hits “Hold On,” “Release Me,” and “You’re In Love.” On April 3, the group released a new studio album made up of covers of songs by both The Beach Boys and The Mamas & the Papas and called it “Dedicated.” The album debuted at No. 29 on the Billboard Albums chart with 16, 283 copies sold in its first week of release.

The trio has also been nominated for four Grammy Awards and two American Music Awards and, most recently, appeared in the hit comedy movie Bridesmaids.

The three front-women are Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson, and Chynna Phillips. They come from a good blood-line. The Wilson sisters’ dad is the legendary Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, and Phillips dad is John Phillips, former leader of The Mamas & the Papas.
