WLA College Plans E-Waste Collection

April 8, 2013

For Earth Day 2013, the Associate Student Organization of West Los Angeles College is sponsoring an Electronic Waste Collection event on campus.

The community is invited to bring their old and non-functional cell phones, televisions, computers, calculators, digital clocks, and other electronic devices to West on Saturday, April 20 or Monday, April 22 from 9 am to 3pm.

People who drop off electronic items will be entered in to a raffle to win a Google Nexus 7 Tablet. There will also be document shredding from 9 am to 11 am.

West is located at 9000 Overland Avenue ( between Slauson and Jefferson) in Culver City. Enter the college from Overland, or from Jefferson between Overland and La Cienega. Follow the signs to Parking Lot #7 on the south side of the baseball field. Look for the big white tent.

New Leaf Waste Recycling is handling the collection and shredding. New Leaf is dedicated to keeping electronic waste and the associated toxins out of landfills. They offer free pickup services for people who have heavy items and/or large quantities.

Contact New Leaf at (800) 974-5413 ext. 10 | http://www.newleafwasterecycling.com
