Culver Resident Killed In Motorcycle Accident

Authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed Monday afternoon on Pico Boulevard at the intersection of 25th Street in Santa Monica as a Culver City resident.

A Los Angeles County coroner's office spokesperson said Alexander Smollins, age 22, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 1 p.m. It was reported that his motorcycle hit a car.

Smollins was traveling eastbound on Pico when he struck a car driven by a 26-year-old Inglewood man, police said. The car had been northbound on 25th Street and turned left onto Pico after stopping at a stop sign when it was struck by the motorcycle, according to police.
