Congratulations are in order for three California public high school students recently named as the winners of the third annual "Education for All" photography contest, a collaboration between the California Association of African-American Superintendents and Administrators (CAAASA) and Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost LLP (F3).

David Carter from the Culver City Unified School District and Ingrid Vazquez and Andrea Fairbanks, both of the Vista Unified School District, will each receive a $1,000 education award for their winning entries in the "Education for All" student photography contest.

high school seniors from across the state were invited to submit photographs depicting three central themes: Diversity, Collaboration, and Achievement. In addition to their photographs, student artists were required to submit a short essay explaining how their work illustrated the thematic focus of the contest.

CAAASA leaders assessed these submissions according to originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, and artistic merit. The purpose of this contest is to promote student achievement, public education's commitment to the arts and a rounded education and to assist public high school graduates with the increasing costs of higher education.
