Dear Editor

September 25, 2012

My husband and I both work for organizations that support arts education in schools. When it came time for our son to go to school, we wanted be a part of a community that shared our commitment to making creativity and dance, music, theatre and the visual arts a part of the teaching and learning for their students. So we moved to Culver City.

Because CCUSD is a district that supports teacher professional development in the arts, a district intertwined with their community arts organizations and a district with a support system like the Culver City Education Foundation (CCEF), choosing where to move was easy.

Thanks to funds raised during last year’s All for 1 campaign, CCEF provided musical instruments as well as support for technology and academic software to every school in the district. This year, the funds from the annual campaign will be directed to science, technology, arts and math, deepening and sustaining Culver City USD’s excellent, diverse and challenging educational programs.

Because CCEF supports a quality education for all students, I support them. I made a contribution online through CCEF’s website ccef90230.org/donate. Won’t you?

-Megan Kirkpatrick,

CCUSD Parent
