As a Trustee of the Culver City Education Foundation (CCEF), a retired educator, and a community member I know how much our Culver City students benefit from CCEF’s work. When I served as Principal at Farragut Elementary School, money from CCEF supported technology, math, science, the Arts (including music, dance, drama, and visual arts), and much more for the students in our school.

Last year, in response to budget cuts from Sacramento, CCEF began a new fundraising campaign: All For 1. All students in CCUSD benefit from All For 1. The funds raised last yearmade it possible for our middle school and all of our elementary schools to have SuccessMaker software which gives students the opportunity to develop math and language arts skills at their own rate. State test scores at Farragut for the past two years (a 2011 API of 932) have proven its effectiveness.

My children are grown now, but when their schools needed support others pitched in – now it is my turn to lend a hand to the next generation of students.
