Dear Editor

How refreshing to read an editorial stating we need to reduce city expenses rather than raise taxes.

(Chamber Wrong in Rush to Support Tax Increase, July 12, 2012)

There are currently 450 Culver City employees making over $85,000/year when you include overtime, benefits and retirement.

When will the liberal democrats running this city realize that raising taxes doesn’t work?

Raise sales tax in Culver City and customers will shop elsewhere.

What happened to the Republican idea of cutting expenses and lowering taxes. That’s what I have to do in my household when this occurs. Lowered taxes increase revenue. Look at when Capital Gains taxes were lowered, revenue increased.

Isn’t it practical common sense to reduce expenses?
