No Damage in Local Quake

 


No damage or injuries were reported after a 4.0 earthquake rattled Culver City at 10:14 pm Tuesday.

The quake centered 28 miles southwest of Malibu was dubbed the Channel Islands Earthquake and was located in the Pacific Ocean.

Culver City residents reported feeling a quick sharp jolt.

The last earthquake to do significant damage in Culver City was the 6.7 magnitude Northridge Earthquake on January 17, 1994. The Northridge quake caused more than $20 million in damages and killed 57 people. It remains one of the costliest natural damages in US history.
