City CFO Muir Resigns

November 5, 2009

The Culver City Observer has learned that after serving for the past two years in the newly created position of Chief Financial Officer Jeff Muir has submitted his resignation and plans to return to the City of Inglewood as the Assistant City Administrator/Chief Financial Officer.

Muir joined the City of Culver City in December, 2007 after working for 14 years with the City Of Inglewood, working in the areas of finance, information technology, human resources and city administration. Prior to joining Culver City, Muir held the position of Assistant City Administrator in Inglewood.

The position of Chief Financial Officer was created after the voters in a sweeping overhaul of city government eliminated the elected position of City Treasurer. Several positions were combined to create the new position.

Muir is the second department head to leave the city this year. Fire Chief Jeff Eastman announced his retirement several months ago. Eastman, who will step down in December, has served 33 years with the Culver City Fire Department, the past six years as chief.
