CCFD Responds to Report of Victim in Ballona Creek

At approximately 7 p.m. The Culver City Fire Department responded to Ballona Creek with a swift water rescue team after receiving reports of individuals jumping in the to a report Ballona Creek. The CCFD team with twenty two fire personnel on the bridge at Slauson avenue In Culver City. Culver City alerted the Los Angeles City Fire Department as the next city downstream from the incident. After an exhaustive search no one was located.

The level of the creek was high due to the large volume of rain from Tropical Storm Hilary. Culver City received inches over 2 days.

Downtown L.A. recorded 2.48 inches of rainfall on Sunday, making it the wettest August day ever in that area
