Ballona Creek Armed Robbery

 

On May 25, at 9:15 am, Culver City Police Officers responded to a call for service regarding a male subject who was robbed and was bleeding in the area of 5100 Block of Cota Street.

Officers met with the victim who advised them that he was walking in the La Ballona Creek, just west of Overland Ave when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect was armed with a knife and demanded the victim's cell phone. A struggle ensued over the phone at which point, the suspect swung the knife in the victim's direction, striking him in the hand. The suspect then took the victim's cell phone, got on a bicycle (no description) and rode away, eastbound through the creek. The Culver City Fire Department responded and treated the victim on scene for his non-life-threatening injuries.

A black Samsung Smartphone with black case was allegedly stolen.

The suspect was described as a black male, 5'6" to 5'8", 20's, goatee, curly black hair, wearing a puffy jacket, and jeans and assaulted the victim with a knife.
